actors still wear leathercoats
to protect their precious feelings
i protect myself from getting lost
by staring at the ceiling
we spent our time like millionaires
it's the only thing we have
i lost my watch by the riverside
then i went home to take a bath

yesterday i've met some friends
from a thousand years ago
they had bottles in their hands
i said hi they said hallo
and they where dancing to the songs
of there childhood days
so they changed the discothek
in a weird nostalgic place

then i jumped back into present time
where the sky is clear and blue
all i want to be is modern now
all i want to be is new

but what i have is an old guitar
a voice and some melodies
so i have to be true instead of new my friend
and when i'm bored i change the keys
horsetravelling seems strange these days
cause everyone can take a plane
but you can check by the dust i raise
if i'm still in the game
