Part Of Me
02:44
|

PART OF ME
they're selling t-shirts now
with the name of my street
they're singing songs
about my favorite places
is that what people mean
by saying you live in a dream
well i guess i do
well i guess i do
this is the longest autumn
that we ever had
even traffic signs pretend a deeper meaning
we follow every arrow
through this golden light
until we're out of sight
until we're out of sight
and every thing i ever see
will always be a part of me
but i forgot
to mark the places in my mind
where i can go seek and find
it's a heavy plot
wowowowow
wowowowow
wowowowow
wowowowow
wowowowow
wowowowow
oh life
the longer you have it
the stranger it gets
but hey i still can take the sunshine for real
it's reflecting in the windows
and i know how it feels
on my skin
and when i lay my head down
on that yellow piece of gras
in the center of town
and everything i ever see
will always be a part of me
but i forgot
to mark the places in my mind
where i can go seek and find
it's a heavy plot

Who Am I Watching
03:46
|
|||
WHO AM I WATCHING
people like houses
don't they
they illuminate
some seconds of their lifes
by switching the light on
watch them doing the dishes
people like cars
don't they
they drive around
pretending to bring something somewhere
it's an addiction
to a short look through the rear view mirror
and who am i
who am i watching
who am i
taking the things out of context
although i live next door
cause everything should be connected
a funny face makes children laugh
once i had a secret and i kept it
even from god above
people need people
don't they
they open their eyes
acting quite surprised
to be one in a million
let's share a cigarette
and this is how it starts
we got brains and we got hearts
we got words coming out of our mouths
but we don't know
where they go
and who am i
who am i watching
who am i
taking the things out of context
although i live next door

Dear Passengers
02:36
|
|||
DEAR PASSENGERS
like diamonds made their way
from marilyn to r'n'b
i made my way from your appartment
the book of longing on my knees
but i didn't read a word
the world was much to new for reading
and as i looked around
i saw the train was filled with human beings
we left the underground
just for a ride but not forever
trees and city sounds
construction work and stormy weather
it all lokeed good to me
scratches patterns on the windows
in perfect symmetry
to clouds and light and how the wind blows
and i know you hate my silly smile
but let me keep it for a while
dear passengers
it may not last so very long
but let me keep it for this song
dear passengers
cuase everyone is in it's time
and things may change just for a rhyme
dear passengers
although we met by accident
we could pretend
it's heaven sent
dear passengers
let's keep that grain of elevation
until we reach the final station
dear passengers
like diamonds made their way
from marilyn to r'n'b
i made my way from your appartment
the book of longing on my knees

New Sensations
02:29
|
|||
NEW SENSATIONS
i will start to smoke pot when i'm seventy-four
with my friends from the third generation
we sit in rotten chairs in front of shopping-malls
to create a new sensation
i will write infinite poems on unpaid bills
and post them all over town
they're about microelectronics and ancient gods
but mostly it's all about sound
and i hope i will not take myself too serious
and i hope i will not bore you to death
and that i may not mistake my long gone youth
for the end of the avant-garde
and on sundays yes on sundays
i will put on my tailormade suit
that i once bought from the royalties
for the soundtrack of trivial pursuit
and i guess you might not remember the movie
it had little to do with the game
all in all it's the same old story
of loss and ambition and fame
and i hope they will get me my favorite chair
in my favorite bar
i will sit there for hours over one cup of coffee
cause my money won't take me too far
i will look out of the window watching the people
and sometimes the waitress will give me a refill
and the sky looks grey in a calm and comforting way
and maybe you will join me in the evening
and we take a walk through our old neighbourhood
and although everything looks different and strange
we will be strangers here for good
i will look out of the window watching the people
and sometimes the waitress will give me a refill
and the sky looks grey in a calm and comforting way

I'm a cloud
02:59
|
|||
I'M A CLOUD
you can look at the sky
or you shout it out
i'm a cloud
i'm a cloud
and if it get's heavy
you can ease the pain
you'll be rain
you'll be rain
your mind may travel
through time and space
the history of the human race
all in all it's just a bunch of days
and it's written all over your face
so if you run into each other out of the blue
you will recognize me and i recognize you
but the money has gone
and the houses are cracked
heaven is for loosers
and hell is almost packed
so let's dance dance dance
until we loose our pants
and when our legs get tired
we can clap our hands
until gravity might catch us in the end
if you look down
what can you see
my belly my feet and my knees
that's me
so partly invisible for yourself
and you need some kind of counterparts
for your health
or at least a mirror
or at least a lake
or at least a traveller
between fact and fake
cause no matter how fast you turn around
your back is your back

The Jury
03:36
|
|||
THE JURY
the jury came in on a monday night
they put their chairs in a row
my flat looked messy
but they pretended to to care
they got pens and papers
and coffee to go
i showed my intentions
i could do this i could do that
i tried a little dance
i did some poses on my bed
i recited a poem with rhymes and all
about how winter was followed
by spring summer and fall
and this is my life through a strangers eye
looks like an unfinished drawing
at the edge of some paper
and although you might consider this
a rather weak position
there's lots of space in this vision
the air was thin
and the light was low
i felt like creating a earthquake
by tipping on my toe
but there was no reaction
only the scratch of the pen
when they're making their notes now and then
i don't know how long they stayed
for an hour for a year
and i can't remember
the way they disappeared
i open the fridge
but there was nothing in it
and i was blinded by the light for a minute
and this is my life through a strangers eye
looks like an unfinished drawing
at the edge of some paper
and although you might consider this
a rather weak position
there's lots of space in this vision
the jury came in on a monday night
and they left without a word
i put the chairs back to a regular chaos
and got rid of my sweaty shirt

Addie Pray
03:04
|
|||
ADDIE PRAY
when i come back from a faraway country
how can i tell you what i have experienced
if you ever come back from such faraway countries
you dont have to tell me about it
but i would like to describe you this paticular moment
and how it felt to be in it
it would be great to imagine this paticular moment
and to think of you being in it
when i like to tell somebody the things i remember
is it because of the things or because of him or her
in a perfect world it will be because of the things
and also because of him or her
and in a perfect world we would treat each other
as if we where some kind of boon
and we could smoke as cool as addie pray
in her bed in paper moon
and maybe you would look at me
as if you know me by heart
and it wouldnt scare the shit out of you
at least not from the start
yesterday i saw you on your bike
yes maybe that was me
i waved all the time but you just moved on
yes sometimes you're so hard to see
but in a perfect world we would shine like diamonds
seen through the eyes of a thief
and every stolen moment
would bring nothing but relief
and maybe you would look at me
as if you know me by heart
and it wouldnt scare the shit out of you
at least not from the start
when i come back from a big disappointment
tell me what should i do or say
you could make it a movie and end each act
with a car driving away

Chemical Romance
03:02
|
|||
CHEMICAL ROMANCE
william s burroughs had very thin lips
and so has irm hermann the german actress
both of them got that mysterious smile
a little dangerous kind of sarcastic
you can easily put them in the back of any scenery
you would always look at them always look at them
a perfect tie and an iron blouse
you would always look at them always look at them
and if a had a chance
i would love to see them dance
close but without touching eachother
in a chemical romance
the music should be slow
and the singer would sing oh
if there is no time
if there's only space
which place do you wanna go
william s burroughs was a gentleman-beatnik
irm hermann was part of the fassbinder-gang
she grew up in a black and white post-war munich
while burroughs ate drugs on a terrasse in tanger
there is little connection but what do i know
maybe they met and they lifted their eyebrows
and if a had a chance
i would love to see them dance
close but without touching eachother
in a chemical romance
the music should be slow
and the singer would sing oh
if there is no time
if there's only space
which place do you wanna go

Blockbuster

|

BLOCKBUSTER
i went back home
put on my shorts
brushed my teeth and charged my phone
while thinking strictly personal thoughts
closed the shutters
shut the lights
and then i was off
goodnight
and in that night i had a dream
that seemed to be more than real
it showed professional pictures
with a vintage appeal
big production
brilliant cast
couldn't read the credits
they went to fast
can't you see this was made for the masses
like transformers or two of a kind
who the fuck created a blockbuster blockbuster
in my underexposed mind
i woke up with the sunrise
washed my face in the sink
then i looked into the mirror
cause it always my low budget shrink
still the same
still the same
said the monkey in the frame
i hardly know how to handle a camera
i press the button and say dope
but inside of me it's all special effects
deep inside it's all cinemascope

Tapir
02:08
|
|||
TAPIR
imagine a tapir
he doesn't like to go out
he doesn't wanna be part of
he has a very long snout
he prefers twilight
and he avoids sunlight
he likes to play in the water
when everything's alright
he's not an elephant
and he's not a pig
he's not totally tiny
and he's not very big
imagine a tapir
i guess that's all you can do
cause you might never see him
he's very shy too
he lives in the woods
and his coat is grey
his voice is a whistle
let's call it a day
imagine a tapir
imagine a tapir
imagine a tapir
how did we get here?

So Soon
03:25
|
|||
SO SOON
there's a lonesome rockin chair
in the middle of nowhere
i might not walk away so soon
i might not walk away so soon
i sit and watch the shooting stars
i finger-shoot at passing cars
i might not walk away so soon
i might not walk away so soon
time's not running time is sweet
time's a dog next to your feet
his eyes are closed he might be soon
the very first dog on the moon
my beard gets longer every day
i wrap it round myself and hey
it's a comfy sleeping bag
partly grey and partly black
things i like and things i loose
things i find and things i choose
become stepping stones at night
things i hug and things i fight
distant voices distant needs
apples under distant trees
tomorrow shines a different light
let's end this song and say goodnight

Why Afraid
02:26
|
|||
WHY AFRAID
why afraid
we got drums and trumpets
love and hate
is written on our jackets
yeah
we can walk this street
and we don't care
if we miss a beat
cause somethimes every heart is stummling
and every break must lead to something
why afraid
why afraid
it's not mods and rockers
you'll be late
if you try to block us
yeah we can walk this street
hands in the air
we can walk this street
